Overview
This two footed jump from a standing position is a test of co-ordination and leg strength. In 1904 an Olympic record of 3.47m was recorded into a sand pit and it stood for over 80 years! The current world record is now over 3.60m. In Sportshall events a specially graduated landing mat is used which enables jumps to be easily recorded.
